Wooden Model of Back Support

This hand-carved wooden model represents one of many iterations of the back support developed for the Eames Lounge Chair. Produced in the Eames shop at 901 Washington Boulevard in Venice, California, it was used to study the form of this part at full scale. The piece is painted silver to approximate the appearance of the intended final material⁠—cast aluminum.
