Charles Eames, Ray Eames

1945

This stackable child’s chair has a charming heart cutout in the back, which allows the user to lift the chair with one finger. The chair was included in the 1946 MoMA exhibition New Furniture Designed by Charles Eames and featured on the cover of House & Garden magazine’s Christmas gifts issue.

“RAY / EAMES” is handwritten in blue ink on a tan label or piece of masking tape attached to the underside. “LS44 / 147A” is handwritten in black ink on a white, rectangular paper label.
