Fiberglass Side Shell

For Ray and Charles, design was an ongoing process, and the wide variety of colors in this exhibition is evidence of how actively engaged they were. In their lifetimes, no colors went into production without them first approving the samples. This Light Blue Grey sample was rejected.

The Herman Miller logo and a backward “B” are embossed on the underside of the shell. “REJECT COLOR” is handwritten on a rectangular, white sticker on the front top of the seat back. “Lt Blue Grey” is handwritten in pen on a circular sticker on the front edge.
