DKR-2

This is an Upholstered Eames Wire Chair with the two-piece pad that has come to be known as the “Bikini Pad” and a steel rod base, which enthusiasts now refer to as the “Eiffel Tower Base.” Ray and Charles were not imitating the Eiffel Tower in designing this base. Rather, they discovered that they could make a four-legged chair base with the best strength-weight ratio by bending and welding the steel rods. This base is lighter by two pounds than the DKX four-legged base. DKR-2 stands for Dining (height) K-wire (chair) Rod (base) 2 (2-piece upholstered pad).
