Splint Label for Evans Products Company

This label for the Molded Plywood Division at the Evans Products Company was created to be attached to products the Eameses designed. Ray’s sculptural logo appears beside the company name, and the images, numbers, and letters all have a graphic quality. The blockiness of the number one and the varying densities and sizes of the letters draw attention to their unique lines, turning every element into a shape that makes up part of a composition. Charles and Ray brought their modern and creative sensibilities to all aspects of their work, down to the smallest details. The distinct label remains glued to the paper wrapping for a plywood leg splint created in 1944.
