Glen Fleck Drawing for “Computer Day at Midvale”

This Glen Fleck framed drawing depicts two of the main characters from the Eames Office puppet show Computer Day at Midvale. Set in the fictional town of Midvale, the production centers on the town’s enthusiastic celebration of acquiring its very first computer.

The drawing features the Mayor of Midvale—recognizable in his tall top hat—alongside computer expert Dr. Miles White. Throughout the show, the Mayor expresses a series of humorous misconceptions about how computers work, while Dr. White patiently explains and corrects them.

Shown here, the two men stand at a decorated podium surrounded by patriotic banners and ceremonial decorations prepared for the town’s computer celebration.
